Funeral Fog Absolutely beautiful and dark. Also has a doomy pace that mixes perfectly with the atmospheric black metal elements. There's story book sounding cleans mixed with deep blackened vocals. And the pianos are like the frosting on a cake. Favorite track: Footsteps.

H.L. FROZEN ORCHARD from Finland play atmospheric dark metal with strong black metal influences but in general more melancholic than evil and with frequent clean vocals. Though not all songs are hits yet, there are intensive and touching tracks like "Footsteps" which show the high potential of this newcomer. Really a soulful debut! Favorite track: Footsteps.

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74
